Oct. 7-10, 2011 Thanksgiving weekend

Thanksgiving weekend was awesome.  The Chatham Hoogies couldn't make it.  We sure missed them all.

Marc's birthday was the next day, and Renee wanted new pictures of the kids for his office.

Jeremy feeding the swan.

Kissing the swan.
Riding the swan.

A discussion with the swan.

And looking just plain cute.

Kelly-Lynn guiding her uncle Marc outside for a BIG birthday surprise!
You expected a new car Marc??

From all sides he got sprayed.

Definitely was a huge success.  For the kids anyway.  And big sister.
Happy Birthday Marc.

A gorgeous weekend.  We were able to have a party outdoors.

Some new (dry) clothes for his birthday.

Tractor I bought that morning at a neighborhood yard sale.
Micah always willing to give his big cousin Kelly-Lynn a hug.

Happy Birthday with some pies with "ONE" candle.

Amy laughing at the candle.

Kids always have a play for our entertainment.
Rose, flower and superman chipmunks.

Sara is a princess butterfly, Leah a tiny butterfly.
Kelly-Lynn & Erin plain butterflies.

A bow from the cast.

Thanksgiving dinner.

Ice cream game.
Each child received a different ice cream.
After a minute the wistle blew and they had to pass their container to the right.

The kids (and adults) loved it.  Nine different ice creams to try.
Chocolate peanut butter was everyone's favorite with mango as their least favorite.

Time for the adult dessert.
Boerenjongens (raisins soaked in brandy) over ice cream.
A gift from my cousin.  Thanks Ap & Rieneke.

Rachel has the best lips to suck down "Fruit by the Foot".

Marc giving Micah a guitar lesson.

Micah recently started guitar lessons.
Rachel, the violin, and Danielle the cello.
Leftover cheesies from their Opa.

Sunday afternoon, the Hamilton gang went home, and we decided to venture into our back 40.
Jeremy did not want to ride in the trailer, but once it started moving, he loved it.

We decided to park the ATV and walk for a bit.

We ended up at the neighbors to see their horses.

Sara getting brave.

Grooming lessons.

Marcel feeding the apples we took from home.

Sara was the first to get a ride on Eppy.

Leah being the animal lover that he is, loved it.  Being quite small, Marc & Curtis walked on either side.
Coby & Curtis were so patient with the kids.

No, no, no is all he said when they put him on.
But when Marc asked if he wanted to come off, it was no again. He loved it.

Sara with the riding helmet.
The horses' names are "Shorty & Eppy".

After a couple of rides for each child, they helped put away all the gear.

They were asked to help feed the horses.  Sara filling the grain feeder.

Leah is beaming.  Eppy was eating the grain she just put in the feeder.

Thank you so much Curtis & Coby for your kindness and patience with our grandchildren.
The kids had a great time with the riding, grooming & feeding the horses.

Jeremy definitely did not want to ride the ATV!

The new tractor was more his size.
